My first full CG color. Done in my 2nd year at Joe Kuberts. I attempted to tell a story within a single illustration by presenting two opposing character types, personalities and emotions. As well as draw the viewer to a particular one first than the other...causing conflict of reaction/emotion...or something to that effect.

The thumbnail made me think 'menstrual blood?' but that is certainly NOT why I clicked it.

It kinda makes me think of a chance meeting between Popular!girl and Loo-zerr!girl in the locker when everyone is gone.
Popular!girl is kinda living in her own bubble and doesn't really notice if Loo-zer!girl responds to conversation.

Sounds about right (except the menstrual part)! She slit her wrist...the viewer isn't supposed to see that right off the bat, if at all. You got the over gist of it though, thanks! :D

I didn't see the slit wrist at first, and it certainly took me a moment to absorb the meaning of the picture.

After I did, it was quite a stunning effect. The two characters look so alike in so many ways, yet so many subtle things make them completely different. Simply amazing.

Fantastic portrayal of your message.

Impressive piece and an excellent concept behind it.

I especially like how some of the color choices you used seem to quietly accentuate the differences between the two figures.

I tried to use as much as I could to symbolize and represent their varying personalities. Thank you so much for your POV on it and for noticing those details. I'm glad they weren't lost to the viewer. I appreciate the nice words! :D

Now that I have the critique in me, I do really love the way this looks. And being still in high-school, the image speaks more than words, for me! Brilliant work. Would love to see more.
